Application credits are a formal commitment by Choice Properties. When your application is not approved after you have paid the application fee and completed all required steps, you automatically receive credits that can be applied toward the application fee on a future application — so a single denial doesn't prevent you from quickly applying for another available property.
When you start a new application, our system automatically checks whether valid credits are associated with your email address. If valid credits exist:

Exception — pre-review withdrawal after payment: If you withdraw your application after completing payment but before active screening has started, you will automatically receive credits as if the application had been denied. This ensures you are not penalized for a timely change of mind before any screening costs are incurred.
The credit system is intended to protect genuine applicants from financial loss when denied. Misuse of the system — including submitting applications with no genuine intent in order to accumulate credits — violates the Terms of Service and may result in account suspension and forfeiture of all credits.
